This tastes like a light cheese cake. It requires two days preparation but it serves 12 and is delicious!
Cherries in the Snow (or Berries on a Cloud)

Ingredients
Meringue base:
6 egg whites
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 to 1 3/4 cup sugar
Topping:
1 8oz cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 pint whipped whipping cream
2 cups miniature marshmallows.
1 pkg. thawed, sliced strawberries mixed with 1 can of cherry pie filling.
Directions
Meringue topping:
Beat the egg whites until stiff. Add cream of tartar, salt, and gradually add sugar.
Spoon and gently spread the mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 9 x 13 pan.
Bake one hour at 250 degrees. Turn off the oven and leave the meringue in the oven over night. Do not open the oven door!
Topping:
Using a mixer, mix the cream cheese, sugar and vanilla. Fold in the whipped whipping cream and 2 cups miniature marshmallows.
Spread on top of the meringue crust. Cover and store in the refrigerator overnight.
Cut into squares and serve with a generous spoonful of strawberry/cherry topping.
