Oven French Toast

This recipe is good for larger quantities. I have used it for weekends or when we have weekend guests.

Ingredients

4 eggs
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup undiluted evaporated milk.
2/3 cup butter, divided.
12 slices day-old bread, divided.
Butter
Syrup

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Beat eggs well in a small bowl. Mix sugar and cinnamon together. Stir into eggs along with evaporated milk.

Melt 1/3 cup butter in a 15 1/2 by 10 1/2 by 1 inch jelly roll pan in the oven. Coat both sides of 6 bread slices with egg batter. Place on jelly roll pan, turning to coat both sides with butter.

Bake in a hot oven (400 degrees) 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Turn, bake an additional 6 to 8 minutes until golden and slightly crisp.

Melt remaining 1/3 cup butter on jelly-roll pan. Repeat dipping and baking procedure with remaining 6 bread slices. Serve hot with butter and syrup.

Notes

I found that we do not need additional butter on top of the bread when we use this method. You can also try using day old french bread, sliced or sliced round cinnamon bread with this recipe. (Depending on how much people eat, this could serve4-6?
